How does RF microneedle RF therapy work?

Microneedle radio frequency (RF) therapy is the piercing of the skin with thin needles and at the same time heating it with radio waves. The needles used in the RF procedure also act as microelectrodes that transmit radio waves deep into the tissues.

As a result, the skin heats up to a temperature of 42-60 °C, causing collagen fibers to shrink. Microneedle cartridges

Medofrax is equipped with ultra-thin needles with a diameter of 0.2 mm. This allows you to drill precisely to a set depth. The depth of penetration can be adjusted from 0.4 to 4 mm . Needles also act as radiofrequency microelectrodes. The device is equipped with vacuum technology, which allows you to evenly and accurately insert needles even into sagging skin and hard-to-reach areas of the body (face, neck, décolleté). Medofrax offers a wide range of cartridges and adjustable parameters.

There is a choice of gold-insulated or non-insulated needles and four different sizes of cartridges. Disposable, sterile cartridges have 18, 25, 49 or 81 needles .

Most of the surfaces of insulated needles are plated with gold. Gold is impervious to radio waves. Radio waves heat the skin not along the entire length of the needle, but only around the uninsulated tip. Thus, radio waves work exactly where we want them to be, at a set depth. Isolated needles are less invasive, and recovery after the procedure is significantly faster.

Uninsulated needles emit radio waves along their entire length. They damage the tissues more and cause greater inflammation. Therefore, the recovery period after the procedure is longer than when using insulated needles.

Non-invasive fractional RF cartridges have rods (protrusions) through which radio waves propagate. Medofrax can be supplied with three different sizes of cartridges of this type. Available sizes: 3×3, 5×5 and 9×9.

Vacuum technology,monopolar and bipolar operating modes

MedoFrax is equipped with a vacuum technology . The vacuum creates negative pressure, which draws the skin fold into the microneedle cartridge. Localized negative pressure distracts the skin from the rest of the tissue. The needles automatically come out, stick into the skin and emit radio waves. Due to the negative pressure, the cartridge comes into better contact with the skin, even in hard-to-reach areas of the body (face, neck and bone tissue). The needles are inserted smoothly, evenly and precisely into the selected depth. Vacuum facilitates the treatment of sagging skin and reduces pain. The procedure is significantly less painful than using devices without this technology.

Bipolar mode

Medofrax offers bipolar operation. In this mode, 50% of the needle is positively charged and the remaining 50% is negatively charged. This ensures that the radio frequency only works at the depth of the needle and does not penetrate deep into the tissues. Therefore, this mode is more suitable for facial treatments.

Unipolar mode

In monopoly mode, the needles are positively charged. The client holds the so-called passive electrode, which acts as a negative charge. This allows radio waves to penetrate the entire body and perform deep healing.
